070 TSP Habit 3: Put First Things First | Manage Yourself

Stephen Covey’s Habit 3 advises Suzuki teachers and parents to put first things first in order to be effective when working with children. This is the third habit in the series of the 7 Habits of Highly Effective Suzuki Teachers and Parents, based on the 7 Habits as set out by Stephen R. Covey. Reflections — Commitment to Raise Children

He raised the question of why parents were too busy to spend time developing their children’s abilities and urged parents instead to decide whether being busy or bringing up their children was the more important.

When a new parent calls the studio for the first time, they may not know what information is important to share or request. Teachers may not have the time to handle these initial communications in a thorough way.
