This episode discusses building a recital preparation checklist, choosing recital selections, setting memorization deadlines, and showing students how to build performance confidence.
Monthly Focus: IDEAS COMPENDIUM
This month’s focus or theme is to build an “ideas compendium.” I have identified four crucial areas that often provide stumbling blocks or frustration points for teachers, parents, and students. I discuss how to set up a gathering place for capturing ideas in each of the four areas, and I discuss some possible examples of items to put on the compendium list. The four areas of the ideas compendium are parent woes, student problems/issues, practice woes, and scheduling woes.
